The Arctic Monkeys magazine advert uses dark and bold colours (black and white). The bold white title on the black canvas makes it really stand out and this would catch an audiences eye. The image is also extremely unusual to put in the middle of a music advertisement because it is very controversial to the type of music that they play. It shows space as the background is plain and neutral and this makes it look neat overall. The mask on the girls face and her indirect eye contact draws the readers in, only two fonts have been used which is a common occurrence I have noticed throughout the adverts I have been looking at. This technique also makes the advert look uncluttered. The white typography on the black background makes it really distinctive for the readers eye. The advertisement is also uses symmetry; symmetry looks well on a poster so I feel that the way they have conveyed this idea works really well.
